Identifying Wisconsin Tags

Welcome Wisconsin cattle producers! We are proud to carry the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium (WLIC) officlal identification tags.

The USDA Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) requires that livestock moving interstate must be officially identified and accompanied by a certificate of veterinary inspection. Official identification options include a USDA electronic ID tag, also called an 840 tag because the EID number starts with 840. You can just use an Electronic ID tag, but having a matching visual ID (called a matched pair tag) enables you to have a second identification method for the animal and help track your cattle with software solutions, such as CattleMax.

A Wisconsin premise ID is required to purchase these tags. Need to register your premise? Register with the WLIC online or use their electronic form to submit by email.

NOTE: The name and shipping address for USDA tags must be the same as the name and address used to register for the Premise ID. If it's not, you will need to provide the name and address used when you registered for the Premise ID in the comments of your order.

USDA tags cannot be shipped to a different state from the state that the premise ID is registered to.
